On Li Weihan's Study of Tao Xingzhi

在中国共产党领导人中,李维汉长期关注陶行知,最早对陶行知作全面深入的研究。他率先提出陶行知教育思想是新民主主义的教育思想,他的政治"也是新民主主义的政治";深刻地揭示了陶行知教育思想从杜威主义——生活教育——新民主主义政治——新民主主义教育的发展轨迹;辩证分析了生活教育理论的进步性及其存在的不足;结合当时革命斗争和根据地的实际情况,明确提出了研究和学习陶行知的原则和方法。李维汉对陶行知的论述,成为延安时期中国共产党正确评价陶行知的思想先导,对我们今天正确认识和评价陶行知也有积极指导作用。

Li Weihan（1896-1984）,one of the communist leaders,had been paying close attention to Tao Xingzhi（1927-1937）.He was also the first person who made thorough research into Tao Xingzhi.He took the lead in putting forward that Tao Xingzhi＇s educational ideas are the new democratic educational thoughts and his politics ＂are also the new democratic politics＂ and significantly revealed the development path of Tao Xingzhi＇s educational thoughts,namely,from John Dewey＇s philosophy and life education,to new democratic politics and new democratic education.Analyzing dialectically the advantages and disadvantages of life education and combing the revolutionary struggle and the practical situation in the base area,Li Weihan clearly raised the principles and approaches for the research and study of Tao Xingzhi.Li Weihan＇s discourse on Tao Xingzhi was used as ideological guidance to evaluate Tao Xingzhi correctly by the Chinese Communist Party during the Yan＇an Stage;it is also a positive guidance for today＇s people to understand and evaluate Tao Xingzhi in the right way.
