摘要
本文认为,科研的水平和实力不仅决定了大学教学和社会服务的水平,而且是评价和衡量大学之学术地位和社会地位的最主要指标之一。论文从四个方面考察了前美国密歇根大学校长杜德斯达特对数字时代大学科学研究方式变革的理念与实践探索,揭示出当代信息技术不仅拓展了科研工作者的创造力、想象力,而且创造了跨时空、跨文化的交流与协同工作新模式,这势必引发科研体制和科研价值观的变革,呼唤大学科研文化的创新。
Scientific research determines not only universities' capabilities of teaching and service, but also is one of the most significant indicators of their academic prestige and public influence.This article explores President Emeritus of The University of Michigan, James Duderstadt's distinguished ideas and practice on paradigm shift of investigation from four aspects,and argues that contemporary information technology not only extends researchers' creativity and imagination,but also creates new models of communication and collaboration in scientific activities,which will definitely stimulate the institutional transformation of research in higher education institutions and call for reinventing research culture.
