On the basis of a series of plane cascade wind tunnel test results the aerodynamic characteristics of adjustabile guide vanes and variable trailing edge guide vanes in an axial compressor have been determined. As a result, one can decide on the applicable range of their deviation angles (when calculated as per Carter's formula) and the essential correction which may be required.
