An Analysis of Changes in China’s Resident Income Gap between Different Regions

1978年以来我国地区间居民收入差距的变化过程可以分为形如倒N型的三个时期,地区间居民收入差距的变动趋势基本上与我国经济发展与制度改革的进程相一致。在1978-1983年、1983-1988年与2003-2008年这三个时期内我国地区间的长期收入差距得到缓解;然而在1988-2003年间,地区间的长期收入差距问题变得更为严重。对1978-2008年各时期地区间收入差距变动的分解显示各时期内地区收入序位的排列相对稳定,对地区收入差距的影响相对较小;而各时期地区间收入增长的累进性却有着很大的不同,这是造成地区收入差距变动的主要因素。

Since 1978, the changing process of China＇s regional income gap can be divided into N-shaped three periods; the trend of the changes of the regional income gap is generally consistent with the process of China＇s economic development and institutional reforms. In the three periods of 1978-1983, 1983-1988 and 2003-2008, the regional long-term income gaps have been alleviated; however, during 1988-2003, the problem of the long-term regional income gap becomes more serious. An analysis of the changes of regional income gaps during the periods from 1978 to 2008 .Indicates that the order of income ranking between the regions is relatively stable, the impact of the regional income gap is relatively small; while there is a big difference in the progressivity of income growth between the regions during the periods, which is the main factor leading to changes in regional income gap.
