5 years ago, New Hope started to launch a powerful initiative to dominate the industrial chain through continuous M&A and integration. Focusing around animal feeds in its upstream sector, the company has integrated links including animal farming, feed processing, slaughtering, meat processing, breeding and vaccination, developed 3 entire industrial chains of meat, egg and dairy products, and attempted to extend the value chain through to end-user brands and markets. After years of integration and pilot projects, this giant and intricate agricultural and animal husbandry network has generated significant returns. In 2009, New Hope’s sales volume of animal feeds reached 12 million tons. The aggregate revenue of Sichuan New Hope Agribusiness Co. Ltd. for the first quarter of 2010 reached RMB164,986,000, an increase of 13.88% YOY.
