Since China implemented the policy of reform and opening to outside world, with the development of economy, the urban--rural income gap is expanding and becomes a obstacle of harmonious society construction. During the transitional period, the factors that affect the urban--rural income gap are manifold. This article will Systematically analyze the formation mechanism of the urban--rural income gap, and give some conclusions and recommendations based on the empirical analysis.
