《边城》的音乐性已有人论及,但大都限于其表层的音乐色彩。笔者认为,这篇小说的音乐性主要体现深层次地用"人事"作曲上,即沈从文是通过借鉴音乐中的奏鸣曲式,以"人事"为旋律创作出《边城》的。因而,从某种意义上说,《边城》并非只是一部"诗化小说"。它更像是一部"音乐小说"。
