Oscar Wilde (1854- 1900) , a hotly disputed British aesthetic writer notorious for his homosexual scandal, was introduced and accepted as a world famous writer and has finally been canonized as a great modernist writer in the more conservative country China. The article aims to explicate how Wilde turned eminent in introducing and translating into modern China.
