产品设计与人类生活息息相关。设计是产品的灵魂，产品是否可用、是否易用、是否好用、是否耐用、是否美观等等都取决于产品设计，人们的生活离不开产品更加离不开设计。产品设计在人类生活中扮演着多个不同的角色。首先，产品设计是科学技术的适应者：产品设计受到大批量生产、生产工艺的限制以及科技发展的影响，第二，产品设计是生活需求的追随者：追随人们的物质需求和精神需求，体现了人们对生活质量的关注；第三，产品设计是人类生活的影响者：现代产品设计从设计心理学、人机工程学、色彩学、形态语义学、材料工艺学等角度关怀着人的生活，同时，对科学工艺和技术又有反作用，影响着人们的生活；第四，产品设计是生活方式的引领者：产品设计更应针对人类潜在的需求进行探究并开发出全新的产品，提出具有前瞻性的解决方案。为人类创造全新的生活方式，引领人类社会的发展。

Product design has a close relationship with mankind. Design is the soul of product. Weather the product is available to use, easy to use, comfortable to use, or durable to use and if it has a beautiful appearance, all that depends upon product design. Now people can not live without product, even more product design. Product design acts as various roles in human life. Firstly, product design is an accommodator to science and technology. Product design is restricted by the mass production and technology craft. It is affected by the development of science and technology. Secondly, product design acts as a pursuer. It chases peopl~ s material and spirit requirement. Thirdly, product design acts as an influencer. Modern product design concerns for people＇ s life in design psychology, ergonomics, color technology, morphology, and material technology, etc.. Meanwhile, product design accelerates the development of science and technology craft, and influences people＇s life. Finally, product design is the leader of people＇s life style. Product design should pay more attention to the potential demand of people, do the research, develop new product for people, and work out an advanced solution in order to create a fresh new life style and lead the development of human society.
