Confucianism,Civil Religion and Political Theology

20世纪80年代,在中国发生了一场关于"儒教"问题的学术争论。20世纪60年代,在西方发生了一场关于"国民宗教"的学术争论。尽管这两场争论发生的时间、空间不同,但涉及的问题却类似,即是否存在一种以政治秩序和政治制度为指向的宗教。就功能而言,"儒教"和"国民宗教"都是与生命神学截然不同的政治神学。

＂Is Confucianism really a religion？＂ This has been a subject seriously debated during 1980’s. Before that,in the 1960’s,a much more intensive debate raged in the west about ＂whether civil religion really existed in America？＂ Even though they happened in separate academic venues,both of these debates were focused mainly on the same question： whether or not there is a religion which is based on and serves to politics. In my opinion both Confucianism and Civil Religion are not regular religions such as Christianity or Buddhism but rather political theology.
