According to investigation about water - water heat exchanger＇s practical application in power plants, the author compared a variety of in- dicators and came a conclusion ： when closed - cycle cooling water system is more polluted water or lager quantity or less resistance pressure, it is suitable for selecting tube heat exchanger. On the contrary, the plate heat exchanger should be chosen.
