An extensive review of methods for suitability evaluation of land reclamation was presented.In general,there were five basic methods： extreme condition method,sum of index method,fuzzy comprehensive assessment method,extension method and artificial neural network method.The basic thesis,distinctive advantage and disadvantage of each type of method were discussed,also the developing trend of land reclamation suitability evaluation were introduced.This will be beneficial for researchers to comprehensively understand each type of method and determine the sound method for integrated management of land reclamation suitability evaluation.
