Sherman Alexie is one of the most popular American writers nowadays. He appropriates and deconstructs popular stereotypes about American Indians and reconstructs new images of contemporary Indians. He marginalizes white characters and centralize Indian characters. He freely crosses various borders, traversing various genres and cultures.
