The paper introduces Research on Initial Strata of C-an Group by WAN Bo, a monograph dedicated to a comparative study on the Gan group found in Jiangxi, Hunan, Anhui, Hubei and Fujian provinces. This book has deepened the synchronic and diachronic researches on Gan group per se and has established a model for the studies of historical strata in the related fields of Chinese dialectology.
