A Tension between the Universality and Particularity of Confucian Ethics

儒家伦理理论上的普遍性和实践上的特殊性之间存在着张力。这主要体现为:儒家道德本体的普遍性与对此本体体认的特殊性之间构成张力;儒家道德规范(礼)起源和本质的普遍性与制礼、践礼的特殊性之间构成张力;儒家道德情感的普遍性与血缘亲情的特殊性之间也构成张力。

Confucian ethics are theoretically universal,but a tension will be produced when the particularity appears in practice.The tension is demonstrated as follows： the universality of the ethics themselves against various specific explanation of the universality;the universality of the origin and nature of the ethics against diversified ways of moral formation and implementation;the universal affection proposed in the ethics against personal concerns about relatives and blood-ties.
