This paper concluded the major research results of past years about the structure and formation process of wood cell wall.In regard to the formation of xylem,the mechanism of differentiation and the accumulation process of major ingredients of wood cell wall,the latest research results were introduced in detail.The purpose of this paper is to sum up the research work that has been done in respect of wood's structure. Furthermore,it can do good to determine the primary research direction of wood atonomy in China while facing the 21th century.
