On Disasters in the History of Chinese Books Undertaking

图书事业灾害以灾害主体为标志,可分为国家图书事业灾害与私人图书事业灾害两类。传统的"书厄论",仅仅关注"宏大叙事",缺乏对图书事业灾害的科学认知。张舜徽突破传统书厄论,认为主观因素是造成图书事业灾害的主要来源。历代图书事业灾害的循环往复,在于科学、民主的图书事业机制的缺失,封建蒙昧以及理想化的民粹热情,以及近代国家的积贫积弱。

The disaster of books undertaking takes the disaster main body as the symbol, which could be divided into disaster of national books undertaking and disaster of personal books undertaking. The traditional theory of book＇s disasters merely pays attention to Grand Narrative, and laeks seientific cognition to the books undertaking disaster. Zhang Shunhui got rid of the fetter of the traditional book disasters＂ theory, who thought that the subjeetive reason is the main source which creates the disaster of books undertaking. Because of lacking of scientific and democratic books undertaking mechanism, ideal of populism, poor and deterioration in modem China,the disaster of books undertaking repeated cyclically again and again in previous dynasties.
