摘要
《泥土》是著名爱尔兰作家詹姆斯.乔伊斯所创作短篇小说集《都柏林人》中的一篇。本文以"症候阅读法"研究该小说的文本,揭示了隐藏在文本之下洗衣房女工玛丽亚的真实生活状况,指出在意识形态潜移默化的作用下,玛丽亚在关键时刻表现出的瘫痪心态。而且作者乔伊斯之所以塑造玛丽亚这个形象就是为了批评这种意识形态影响对人性的破坏,唤起人们对精神自由的追求。
This paper seeks to bring Clay,one of the fifteen short stories of Dubliners,written by famous Irish writer James Joyce,into analysis through the lens of Louis Althusser＇s ＂symptomatic reading＂ critical perspective.The paper points out that it is due to the influences and the domination of ideology that Maria demonstrates a mental paralysis at the critical moment,and that Joyce＇s portrait of Maria is a charge to the influences and the domination of ideology for its destruction of humanity in order to arouse people＇s pursuit of the spiritual freedom.
