五四思想界:中心与边缘--《新青年》及新文化运动的阅读个案 被引量:22

The May Fourth Intelligentsia:Center and Periphery——A Case Study of Reading La Jeunesse and the New Culture Movement

摘要 "自五四运动以来",早已成了固定的叙述模式;各种"回忆"所建构的"读《新青年》,参与五四运动",也明示了"五四"的影响。在更为广泛的视野下,发掘具体的阅读经验,即将问题转换为新文化运动是如何被"阅读"的,则对此的认知,或有不同的看法。透过几个个案,一是已走出校园者,一是在校学生,可以发现,身处不同地域、不同身份个体对《新青年》及新文化运动的"阅读",颇有差异,呈现出新文化运动的多姿多彩性,及中国社会的多样性。而"中心"与"边缘"的区分,亦可帮助后人更好认知新文化运动的"影响"机制。"中心"在向"边缘"渗透,"边缘"也发生着向"中心"的认同。 Ever since the May Fourth Movement' has been a settled narrative pattern for a long time;the trope of 'reading La Jeunesse and participating in the May Fourth Movement,' as constructed by various 'memoirs,' also reflects the influence of 'May Fourth.' If we locate specific reading experiences within a broader field of view by asking how the New Culture Movement was 'read,' we may get different perspectives on this problem.Through looking at individual cases,including recent graduates and students still in school,we find that individuals in different regions with different identities had different 'readings' of La Jeunesse and the New Culture Movement.This demonstrates the variety of the New Culture Movement and the diversity of Chinese society.Additionally,distinguishing between 'center' and 'periphery' can help later generations to better understand the New Culture Movement’s mechanisms of 'influence.' The 'center' permeated into the 'periphery,' and at the same time the 'periphery' identified with the 'center.
