科学论证:中国认知语言学研究走向国际的首要前提

On the Current Status of Argumentation in Chinese Cognitive Linguistics

新世纪的中国高等教育和科学研究都在大力提倡"与国际接轨"。在新世纪第一个十年即将结束之际,认知语言学已经成为外语界的"显学",并对整个中国语言学的发展产生了重要影响。然而,中国认知语言学距与国际接轨的目标仍然有相当距离,其中最重要的因素是缺乏对国际理论语言学通行研究范式的基本意识。本文重温一般科学方法论的基本思想,以实例分析了国内认知句法研究在科学论证方面存在的缺陷,澄清对这一领域的相关误解,指出向形式语言学学习论证技巧不失为面对国际化挑战的策略。

Toward the end of the first decade in the new millennium, Cognitive Linguistics has attracted an unprecedented population of Chinese scholars and has generated a huge amount of research output in the linguistic journals published in China. Yet this has made little impact outside of China. A glimpse at the published research will show that few Chinese scholars demonstrate a strong sense of argumentation in their research and in fact hold certain misunderstandings regarding the nature of the field. Drawing on published articles in cognitive syntax, the author illustrates several types of problems in argumentation and suggests the need of a basic acquaintance with formal syntax as a strategy of learning argumentation.
