Difficult Exploration:the History Evolution of Development Concept in China During the Past 60 Years

建国后中国的发展观经历了四个阶段的演变:建国初期,第一代领导人在复杂的国际国内局势下实施赶超战略,形成了跃进生产观;改革开放以后,第二代领导人开启改革开放的大发展时期,树立了效率发展观;20世纪90年代的新形势新任务要求中国的发展要有新思路,第三代领导人提出了创新发展观;进入21世纪以后,面对发展中出现的种种问题,中央领导集体提出科学发展观。科学发展观立足当代中国的发展实践,是在继承基础上对前人发展观的扬弃升华,标志着富有中国特色的社会主义发展理论形成。

After the founding of the PRC, the development concept has gone through four stages of evolution. In the early period after the founding of PRC, the first-generation leaders practice the Catch-Up Strategy under the complex international and domestic situations, and formed a leap production concept. After the Reform and Opening-Up, the second generation leaders started to foster efficient development concept. In 1990’s, the third generation of leadership put forward an innovation concept of development with new ideas under the new situation and new tasks. In the 21st century, the new generation of leaders put forward the Scientific Concept of Development in order to adapt to new changes and meet emerging challenges. The Scientific Outlook on Development based on the practice of contemporary China’s development, as a result of inheritance and promotion of their predecessors’ viewpoints on China development, it marks the formation of the development theory of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
