摘要
车牌定位是汽车牌照识别系统的关键环节,而边缘提取的质量影响车牌图像的最终定位准确性。本文提出的复合型数学形态学算法采用了一种新的图像边缘提取算子对车牌图像进行边缘提取,并结合水平和垂直投影进行车牌定位。实验结果表明,该算法可对有噪声的车牌图像进行准确、有效的定位。
Car license plate location is the key process in car license plate recognition system, and the quality of edge detection has a great impact on the accuracy of the final car license image location. A new algorithm for license plate location based on compound mathematical morphology is presented with an edge detection operator designed for the edge extraction of the license plate image. Both the horizontal projection and vertical projection are used to locate the license plate area. The experiment shows that the algorithm is accurate and efficient in the license plate location.
