The design of multi-user Watt - hour meter based on the CAN is presented in the paper. First, The advantages of CAN and the trait of the meter,and the overall structure design are introduced. Second, the main module units are discussed in detail. The meter not only can measure the power for muhihousehold families, but also has the advantages of Power control,real- time processing speed, and high performance cost rate. In particular,the meter has the humanized advantages of overdraft consumption of energy in the design.
