A Functional Study on Interpersonal Meanings of Projection in English Academic Articles

It suggests a model to interpret the interpersonal meanings of projections in academic articles. And then authentic examples of different types of projections are cited to show under this model how various projections function to express different interpersonal meanings. The analysis finds that the projection system constructs a heteroglossic context and provides a wide range of options for the writer in a very appropriate and effective way to express his or her values,to construct a dialogic context and align with the multiple readerships in the academic texts. The analysis makes some contributions to the interpersonal study of projection theoretically. And practically it is hoped it can shed some light on the teaching and writing of the academic paper.
