瑞丽市是发展竹产业条件最优越的地区之一,也是建立竹藤种质资源收集保存繁育基地最为理想的地区。瑞丽珍稀竹藤种质资源保存繁育基地建设目前已取得显著成效,共收集竹藤资源38属415种,成为收集保存竹种最多的竹园和名副其实的"亚热带竹种大观园"。
