《讲不完的故事》是米切尔.恩德最主要的代表性作品之一。恩德将丰富的哲学思想融入了一个孩子寻找自我的经历中,这其中包含了个体在成长过程中对自我的认同,即自我意识的萌发,也隐含了成人和孩子在精神世界中的同源和分化,而导致这分化产生的原因正是人类在物质世界的日益丰满中所忽略的精神世界的虚无。恩德借用一个孩子的形象描述了人类日渐脱离童年梦想的状态——一个失去想象的灰色空间。

The Never Ending Story is one of masterpieces by Michael Ende. Ende puts rich philosophical thought into a child＇s experience in finding themselves, which includes the individual self in the process of growing, that is, a recognition that the germination of self-awareness, and the implicit in the spiritual world of adults and children in the same source and differentiation. What leads to the causes of this differentiation is the man in the fullness of the material world which is increasingly ignored in the spiritual world of nothingness. So Ende makes the image of a child to describe a state where the man has forgotten his childhood dream which is becoming a gray space for the losing imagination.
