Objective To explore the effective method of tiny injure on renal calyceal stones. Methods We retrospectively analyzed 1362 patients with renal calyceal stones (178 with upper calyceal stones,311 with middle calyceal stones, and 873 with lower calyceal stones) treated by ESWL with B-ultrasound orientation from January 2004 to December 2009.Results The stone free rates of upper, middle and lower calyceal stones were 87.08%,86.17% and 85.80% respectively. Conclusion ESWL is the first choice for patients with renal calyceal stones, but the PCNL or Ureteropyeloscopy lithotripsy is the fine choice for the patients with the position of renal calyceal stone close to cortical substance.
