弗洛图是20世纪以来,从政治和权力的角度解读女性翻译、彰显女性译者之差异性的女性译者兼翻译理论家之一。其翻译表明,翻译的政治是指翻译在两种不同文化碰撞与交融过程中显现或隐现的权力关系。从女性主义视角研究翻译的政治,就是要在重写翻译中凸显女性的差异性,为女性争取话语权。同时翻译的首要功能是社会功能而不是语言功能;翻译绝不是一种简单的语言转换行为,而是译入语社会中一种独特的政治行为和文化行为。

Flotow is the famous woman translator and one of the theoreticians who,from the perspective of politics and power,interpret and understand feminist translation and exhibit the special difference of feminist translator since the 20th century.Her translation proves that the politics of translation refers to the power relationship that translation shows or hides in the course of two different cultures＇ meeting and blending.To study the politics of translation from the view of woman is to rewrite translation to exhibit woman＇s difference and to strive for the power of discourse for woman.Meanwhile,their translation also shows that the primary function of translation is the social but not language function;and translation is never a simple language behavior,but a special political and cultural behavior in the society of target language.
