Study on Semantic Scale of Geographical Information and Its Transformation Mechanism

研究了地理信息的语义尺度及其变换机制问题.探讨了语义尺度概念的内涵,指出了语义尺度的表征量名,阐述了语义尺度和空间尺度及时间尺度的关系,在此基础上基于分类关系和构成关系提出了地理信息语义尺度变换的机制,并用代数方法进行了形式化描述.对于完善尺度理论体系具有重要意义.

In geographical information science,scale is a foundational issue. As to probe into the connotation of scale of geographical information,three-tiered conceptualization of scale has been introduced as：dimensions,kinds and components. Dimension of scale of geographical information is of space,time and semantic hierarchy. First,this article defines the connotation of semantic scale,points out its presentations and measurement,discusses the relations of semantic scale,spatial scale and timescale; second,transformation mechanism of semantics scale in geographical information science has been probed,and it can be included two ways：transformation of semantic levels of relations of ＂is-kind-of＂ ,transformation of semantic levels of relation of ＂is-part-of＂ ; At last its formalization of the semantic transformation mechanism of geographical information of the two ways is presented based on algebraic approach.
