摘要本文从《了不起的盖茨比》中主要人物盖茨比和尼克出发,分析这本现代主义小说中所代表的被女性化甚至具有同性恋倾向的男性形象,这种性别颠覆挑战并质疑了西方社会所推崇的用来衡量男女特质的行为标准与规范,同时也动摇了根深蒂固的男权社会。 Through the analysis of the major male characters,Gatsby and Nick in The Great Gatsby,this essay argues that the dogmatic system of social norms and values,which is treasured and honored in Western society,about the binary opposition between masculinity and femininity is greatly challenged and subverted in this modernist novel.
