隐喻是一种常见的语言现象。作为一种语言表达方式,隐喻具有直观、形象的美学特征,因而它广泛地出现在文学作品中。翻译是将一种文化中的语言所表现的认知方式用目的语传递到目的语的文化中去,而隐喻的翻译已经开始成为研究翻译方向的重点和难点之一。由于它是一种比较特殊的表达方式,人们在中英文翻译过程中,常常感觉难以把握。本文首先对隐喻的含义进行解释,继而探讨其本质特征,第三部分是文章的重点,通过实例来探讨英语隐喻翻译的障碍及解决方法。

Metaphor is a common language phenomenon.As a way of language expression,metaphor has visual,vivid aesthetic characteristics,so it is widely used in literatures.And since it is a special way of expression,people often find it difficult to deal with the Chinese-English translation of metaphor.In this essay,the author first gives a detailed explanation of its meaning,and then discusses its natures,and in the main part,the author reveals the obstacles of its translation as well as the methods.
