摘要
近年来,越来越多的中国学生去西方国家求学,因此我们需要了解出国留学学生这一特殊群体。尽管在中国已有大量有关动机与表现之间的关系的研究和二语习得中动机的重要性的研究,但对中国大学生英语学习动机与表现的实例研究,却比较缺乏。本文以湖南涉外经济学院国际教育学部的四个大学生为研究对象,进行了学习动机和表现方面的定性研究,旨在证实良好的动机能改进学生在英语学习中的表现。
In recent years,increasing numbers of Chinese students have been coming to study for higher degrees in western countries.There is a growing need to understand this particular international student population.Although there are abundant studies on the relationship between motivation and performance as well as the importance of motivation in second language learning in China,there appears to be insufficient research into case studies on English learning motivation and performance of Chinese college students.This paper draws on a qualitative case study of four college students' motivation and performance in international education department in Hunan International Economics University(HIEU)in China,aiming to prove the hypothesis that good motivation can improve a student's performance in English learning.
