名词化视角下“八荣八耻”译文的再思考

Translation of "Eight Virtues and Eight Vices" from the Perspective of Nominalization

名词化是"成人语篇"中常见的语言现象,尤其大量出现在科技文体、新闻文体和政府部门的语篇中。笔者从名词化角度出发,重新翻译了胡锦涛总书记提出的"八荣八耻"荣辱观。通过分析名词化隐喻的产生、其具有的双重语义特征及语用功能,笔者指出,在翻译上述文体的语篇时,名词化表达方法会达到较理想的交际效果。

Nominalization is characteristic in all adult discourse,common especially in such types of discourse as texts in science,in the newspapers and in politics.From the perspective of nominalization the author translates the socialistic outlook ＂Eight Virtues and Eight Vices＂ put forward by President Hu Jintao.After the analysis of the reasons why nominalization exists,the double semantic characteristics it bears and the functions it has,the author draws a conclusion that nominalization ensures a better communication effect when the types of discourse mentioned above are translated.
