Analysis of the Differences between Chinese Feng Shui Theory and Western Urban Construction Theory through Modern Shanghai

当今面对如潮般的西方城市营建规划理论,中国城市的规划和发展以及其传统理论:风水理论面临着前所未有的机遇和挑战。而上海作为近百年来中国城市建设和发展的一个缩影,会聚和体现了中西方不同的城市营建理论。该文通过对两种理论及其背景之不同的浅析,期待能为开创一条当代中国自己的城市营建道路提供一些思路。

Now facing the urban construction and planning theories from the West like the tide, urban planning and development in China as well as Chinese traditional theory： Feng Shui theory are facing the unprecedented opportunities and challenges. Shanghai as a miniature of urban construction and development in China in recent centuries, converged and manifested the different urban construction theory in China and the West. This paper, from analyzing the differences in two kinds of theories and their backgrounds, anticipates providing some mentalities for founding a way of contemporary urban construction in China.
