The nativist novel A Story in the Bamboo Forest, written by the well -known writer Fei Ming, is deemed as one of the most typical and distinguished nativist novels in the history of Chinese literature for its prosifled tone, excellent descriptions of the beautiful circumstance, implicit emotion and unique insights about life. Since 1990s, with the progress of multiple researches on Fei Ming＇ works, as well as the rise and development of Ecocriticism in China, A Story in the Bamboo Forest has gradually come into the ecocritic＇ s consideration. This article tries to re - interpret the novel of A Story in the Bamboo Forest from an ecological perspective, analyze the ecological factors in the text, and reveal the beauty of artistic conception, the beauty of nature and harmony, in order to have a new understanding and interpretation on this novel.
