Culture as Presentation of Personality and Spirit:In Commemoration of the 150th Anniversary of the Publication of Burckhardt's The Civilization of the Renaissance in Italy

文艺复兴是近代欧洲资本主义文明的萌芽阶段,也是人文主义思想文化的繁荣时期。布克哈特在《意大利文艺复兴时期的文化》等著作中,用其独到的文化史观论证了文化与人的个性、精神之本质联系,并对那段时期文学艺术等文化现象的特征、内容、价值、影响等作了总体性的梳理和评价。在布克哈特代表作发表150周年之际,为了深化文艺复兴史的研究,学术界有必要对布克哈特的文化史观重作一番探究。

Renaissance was the dawn of the capitalist civilization in modem Europe, as well as the boom of the humanistic culture. In his work The Civilization of the Renaissance in Italy and other works, from his unique viewpoint of cultural history, Burckhardt demonstrates the essential relationship among human culture, human personality and spirit, and he broadly expounds and evaluates the features, content, value and impact of literature and art during Renaissance. With the advent of the 150th anni- versary of the publication of Burckhardt＇ s representative work, it is absolutely necessary to conduct further research on Burck- hardt＇ s views of cultural history in order to deepen studies of the Renaissance.
