Countermeasures and SWOT analysis of the employment of forestry college graduates in Guangdong

通过对广东林业院校毕业生的SWOT分析发现,在其就业过程中,具有知识面广、吃苦耐劳、踏实勤奋、好学进取等优势,具有自我定位不明确、社会适应能力差、知识结构不合理、自卑心理明显等劣势,面临区域经济发达、政府对商品林生产重视和林业发展处于大好形势等机遇,面临金融危机下就业形势严峻、用人单位要求高学历、社会对林学专业有歧视和工作环境比较艰苦等威胁。基于上述分析,提出了加强学校和企事业单位人才交流与合作,拓宽学生知识面以增强竞争力,加强学生职业规划和人生规划教育、进行系统就业培训等对策。

Forestry college graduates were faced with both opportunities and challenges, and had both advantages and weakness. SWOT analysis showed that forestry graduates in Guangdong have broad scope of knowledge and are hard-working, tolerant of hardship, dependable, industrious and willd to learn and progress. However, they had obvious weaknesses such as lacking definite study purposes, poor adaptability to the society, having imbalanced knowledge structure and obvious self-humiliation. They were faced with many opportunities, including developed regional economy, great attention the government paid to timber production and the unprecedented favorable circumstances for forestry development. Meanwhile, they were faced with serious challenges such as difficulties in job hunting due to financial crisis, increased need for personnel with Master or doctorial degrees, social discrimination on forestry graduates and harsh working conditions. Based on the analysis, several countermeasures were put forward, including strengthening cooperation between universities and enterprise and public institutions, improving students’ competitiveness of employment, enhancing education of career and life planning, and carried out systematic employment training.
