摘要
《我弥留之际》是福克纳最具代表性的小说之一,他在作品中成功的刻画了本德仑一家。通过文本分析,可以把书中人物分为三类:一是敢于面对不幸并获得新生的人;二是逃避现实最终被生活击败的人;三是反抗然而失败却虽败犹荣的人。福克纳通过对人物的描写表达了他对普通人的命运乃至整个人类社会前途的关注,而这正是作品的深层社会意义所在。
As I Lay Dying was one of the famous novels written by Faulkner,in which he descriped the Bendruns.Through the analysis of the novel,the characters can be devided into three kinds：those who dared to face the misfortune and gained new life;those who wanted to escape from the reality and failed;and those who had struggled and were respectable though they lost.The essay will show Fanlkner＇s concern with the fate of common people and the future of the whole socity,which is the deep social meaning of the novel.
