Biological significance of cyclin E expression in early gastric cancer

目的研究早期胃癌ｃｙｃｌｉｎＥ表达的生物学意义．方法用免疫组化法检测１０８例早期胃癌组织中ｃｙｃｌｉｎＥ和Ｐ５３的表达．结果正常胃腺体细胞几乎不染色，３３％（３６／１０８）的胃癌呈棕黄色．ＣｙｃｌｉｎＥ的总阳性率，在幽门部为４８％（２４／５０），肉眼观混合型４６％（６／１３），组织学分化型４０％（３１／７８），Ｐ５３阳性者５４％（１９／３５），均显著高于对照组．ＣｙｃｌｉｎＥ的强阳性率，在癌侵入粘膜下者是１８％（９／５１），侵入静脉者２８％（５／１８），侵入淋巴管者２８％（９／３２），侵入淋巴结者３０％（４／１３），都显著高于对照组．ＣｙｃｌｉｎＥ强阳性者五年生存率４０％（４／１０），显著低下．

AIM To investigate the biological nature of cyclin E expression in early gastric cancer. METHODS The expression of cyclin E and P53 was examined by immunohistochemical method in 108 cases of early gastric cancers. RESULTS Normal gastric epithelial cells were almost not stained, while 33% (36/108) of early gastric cancers were stained brown yellow. Total positive rate of cyclin E was 48% (24/50) in antrum, 46%(6/13) in mixed type of gross examination, 40% (31/78) in differentiated type and 54% (19/35) in P53 positive tumors; and they were significantly higher than the control groups. Strongly positive rates of cyclin E were: tumors invading submucosa, 18% (9/51); those invading venous vessel, 28% (5/18); those invading lymphatic vessel, 28% (9/32); and those invading lymph node, 30% (4/13): they were significantly higher than their control groups. The 5 year survival rate was 40% (4/10) in patients with strong positive cyclin E. CONCLUSION The cyclin E positive especially strongly positive tumors have much higher malignancy, its expression can help discern the biological nature of early gastric cancer.
