我国英汉学习词典中英美变体处理初探

A Study on Disposal of British English and American English in Learners' English-Chinese Dictionaries

英国英语和美国英语是最主要的两种英语变体,它们在发音、拼写、词汇、语法、语用层面上都存在着差异。但我国现有英汉学习词典对此处理较随意。本文以英国英语和美国英语介词用法的差异为例探讨英美语体信息在英汉学习词典中的信息标注问题,并提出两点建议:(1)借鉴国外编纂英语词典的体例模式,全面地标注英国英语和美国英语的用法差异;(2)建立完整的参见系统,避免参见扑空。

British English and American English are the main variants of English.There are many differences in pronunciation,spelling,vocabulary,and grammar,while some current Learners＇ English-Chinese Dictionaries treat them relatively at will.With the study the different usage of prepositions,this essay discussed the marked information of British English and American English and made two suggestions：（1） taking the advantages of foreign English dictionaries to overcome shortcomings;（2） establishing the complete cross-reference structure to avoid the empty cross-reference.
