摘要
"信、达、雅"是我国近代启蒙思想家、翻译家严复提出的关于翻译的标准。根据"信、达、雅"的理论所采用的翻译方法大致可以概括为两种,即"直译"和"意译"。本文将通过对《一座长桥》的两个英文译本在"直译"和"意译"方法上的使用以及由此产生的不同效果方面进行比较评析,来探讨翻译理论在翻译实践中的运用。
＂Faithfulness,expressiveness,and elegance＂is a translation criterion proposed by Yan Fu.According to this theory,the translation methods generally can be summarized as two kinds,namely＂literal translation＂and＂free translation＂.Based on these two translation methods,this paper tries to make the comparison and analysis from the usage and effect of the two English tranlations of＂An Extended Bridge＂so as to further discuss the use of translation theory in the translation practice.
