In this paper,the author presents an account about the roles of Australian coal industry in world rnergy.As many countries＇ economies revitalize and their energy demands witness increase in the post-global financial crisis period,coal exports from Australia will continue to play a significant role in fueling the world＇s major coal markets.While the world is attaching more and more attention to energy conservation and emission reduction,Australia＇s role in clean coal technology development and carbon capture and sequestration development is also a step forward compared with others.All these are of value to the coal industry development strategy of this country.
