摘要
英文影视剧作为展示英语国家社会文化的窗口,以其地道的语言和轻松的娱乐性成为了众多英语学习者的学习资料。本研究结合内容教学法和跨文化交际理论,以英语专业大二大三学生为研究对象,采用问卷调查和访谈的实证研究方法,对英语专业学生收看英文影视剧的频率、时间、动机、选择偏好和收看英文影视剧对英语学习的作用等方面进行调查。调查发现:英语专业学生收看英文影视剧的频率较高,时间较长。多数同学会模仿演员的语音语调,并反映听力水平有很大提高。通过对所得数据进行分析,发现学生在有些英文影视剧的理解上存在困难,英文影视剧素材课堂应用较少。根据调查结果,作者提出若干建议,以期为以后的英文影视剧教学应用提供一些参考。
English movies and soap operas mirror the social and cultural features of English speaking countries in their idiomatic language use and entertaining plots,and act as an effective source for Chinese EFL learners.The thesis applies theories of content based language instruction and intercultural communication to investigate students of English major in Beijing Normal University on their frequency,time,motivations,and preferences of watching English movies and soap operas, as well as its effects on their English learning through questionnaires and interviews.The research results indicate that,students of English major frequently watch large amount of English movies and soap operas.Most students imitate actors' accent and intonations,and consider it as an effective way to develop listening skills.Moreover,statistics show that English movies and soap opera materials are insufficiently applied in English classes,and students have difficulty in understanding some of the plots.Based on all the findings,the author puts forward some suggestions for the application of English movies and soap operas in English classes.
