An Analysis of Media Convergence in Chinese Context

中国语境下的媒介融合既是一场传媒产业的深度变革,也是一次引人注目的社会变迁,因此,有必要从传播学和社会学的视角切入,并结合中国现代化转型以及全球化扩张的双重语境,来思考媒介融合将如何面对我国的政治、经济、文化的重重壁垒。中国语境决定了中国媒介融合的渐进式进程。虽然制度的瓶颈仍然是其难以跨越的障碍,但就目前的情况来看,媒介融合既提升了受众的积极性与主动性,也促进了产业层面的互动与整合,并且它还为我国文化形态、社会制度和结构层面的历史性变革奠定了基础。

Media convergence in Chinese context is both a deep reform of media industry and a significant social change. Therefore, it is important that we consider how media convergence deals with the political, economic, and cultural barriers from the perspectives of communication and sociology in light of the double contexts --modernization and globalization in China. The Chinese context determines that media convergence can only be gradual. Though the system itself is difficult to overcome, media convergence has played positive roles so far. For instance, it has helped increase audience motivation and agency, enhanced industrial interaction and collaboration, and set the foundation for historical reforms in Chinese cultural forms, social system, and structure.
