The SiC sagger bonded with silica fume can react with oxygen at high temperatue which results in a descent of SiC content and shortens the life of the sagger The oxidization rats is greater at higher temperature The addition of MnO 2 mineralizer makes the binding layer more stable, denser and more homogeneous, which obstructs the diffusion of O 2 and lowers the rate of oxidization The kinetic equations for oxidation of SiC sagger with mineralizer are G (1100℃)=1 67×10 -4 τ 0 72 , G (1300℃) =4 22×10 -4 τ 0 98 and those without mineralizer are G (1100℃)=9 88×10 -4 τ 0 48 , G (1300℃)=1 72×10 -3 τ 0 70 and those without mineralizer are G (1100℃)=1 67×10 -4 τ 0 72 , G (1300℃)=4 22×10 -4 τ 0 98
