摘要
以Bi2O3/B2O3为主要助熔剂,用改进的高温助熔刑法生长出一种新型掺铋复合稀土铁石榴石(HoYbBi)3Fe5O12单晶.研究了磁光性能、法拉第旋转温度和波长特性.在10~110℃.单晶的法拉第旋转温度系数在λ=1.55μm时为4.6×10-4K-1,比YIG单晶的法拉第旋转温度系数小.在λ=1.55μm时,(HoYbBi)3Fe5O12单晶的法拉第旋转波长系数(FWC)为0.0048%,单晶的法拉第旋转几乎不随波长变化.单晶的比法拉第旋转很大、饱和磁化场低、这种新型(HoYbBi)3Fe5O12晶体很适合做温度稳定的宽带光隔离器的法拉第转子材料.
Using Bi2O3/B2O3 as the main flux, a new composition of Bi-substituted mixed rare-earth iron garnet single crystal material of (HoYbBi)3Fe5O12 has been grown for the first time by the improved flux method. The magneto-optical properties as well as the temperature and wavelength dependence sensitivity of the new composition are studied. The Faraday rotation temperature coefficient is 4.6 × 10-4 K-1 at the wavelength of 1.55μm in the 10~110℃ temperature range,which is smaller than that of YIG. The Faraday rotation of (HoybBi)3Fe5O12 at 1.55μm band proved to be nearly independent of wavelength λ, the Faraday rotation wavelength coefficient (FWC) is only 0.0048%. Moreover, the Faraday rotation coefficient is large and the magnetic saturation field is low.This new type (HoybBi)3Fe5O12 single crystal is therefore expected to be more practical as a Faraday rotator for wideband and temperature-stabilized optical isolator.
