Based on the statistic data and typical examples in the ＂ 1000 - 100 - 10＂ project of Guangdong Province, this paper shows that features of excellent teachers＇ growing up lie in such aspects as optimization of academic affiliation, visiting scholar and co - operation in higher education and scientific institutes, establishment of the academic team, clear and definite direction of research and teaching, obtaining economical support from project funds, integration of production, teaching, and research, combination of teaching and research, actively involved in academic communication, etc.
