On Conceptual Blending in Translation

直译和意译是翻译中的两种最基本的方法。直译强调内容和形式的双重对应,而意译则强调"精神实质"的一致性。概念融合理论是近年来认知科学研究领域的重要成果之一,由Fauconnie和Turne在心理空间理论的基础上提出。该理论是一种意义构建理论,其基本思想是:概念融合在自然语言的意义建构过程中起着重要作用。文章把认知语言学中的概念融合理论运用到翻译中来,强调真正好的翻译者应该懂得在翻译工作中如何有效地运用概念融合理论,把翻译做到尽善尽美。

Literal translation and free translation are two basic ways of translation. Literal translation emphasizes the double Corresponding in content and form. However, free translation pays more attention to the consistence of spiritual essence. Conceptual blending theory is one of the main products in cognitive science field, put forward by Fauconnie and Turner. The basic idea is that blending in meaning construction process plays an important role. This thesis tries to apply the Conceptual Blending Theory in cognitive linguistics to translation, and emphasizes that a really efficient translator should know how to apply the Conceptual Blending Theory in translation tasks.
