The Contrast on the Degree of Grammaticalization of the Classifier Constructions Between English and Chinese

英汉表量结构都经历了虚化度最低→虚化程度较高→虚化程度更高的语法化路径。英汉表量结构语法化都涉及到语义演变、隐喻和转喻的认知方式、类推和重新分析的语法化机制。通过英汉表量结构虚化程度的对比,可以得出汉语中出现了典型的表量结构,其虚化程度比英语表量结构高;通过对英汉表量结构语法化路径的对比,证明汉语表量结构的结构更加固定,英语表量结构有着向汉语表量结构的结构发展的趋势。因此,汉语表量结构的语法化程度比英语表量结构的语法化程度高。

It studies the degree of grammaticaliazation of the classifier constructions between English and Chinese from the perspective of contrast between English and Chinese.Both of the classifier constructions go through the same grammaticalization path.It is from the lowest empty degree to the higher empty degree and then to the much higher empty degree.The grammaticalization process of the classifier constructions in English and Chinese is concerned about the semantic changes,the cognitive ways of metaphor and metonymy as well as the grammaticalization mechanisms of analogy and reanalysis.It is concluded that the classifier construction in Chinese is typical,and the empty degree of classifier construction in Chinese is higher than that of English through the contrast of empty degree between the two classifier construction.The construction of classifier construction in Chinese is more fixed than that of English through the contrast of the grammaticalization path of them,and the construction of the latter tends to develops to the construction of the former.Therefore,the degree of grammaticalization of classifier construction in Chinese is higher than that of classifier construction in English.
