从地域与民族文化角度浅析英汉喻体的选择

The Choice of Metaphor Vehicle Between English and Chinese from the Perspective of Region and National Culture

比喻是英汉两种语言中都极为常见的修辞方式,喻体的选择在很大程度上又是由地域环境和民族文化所决定的。文章主要从地域环境(地域分布、种植农作物的差别、气候特征)与民族文化(传统文化影响、宗教神话、生产劳作)两方面探究英汉比喻中喻体的选择,从而让人们准确地接受、传达语言和文化信息,进行有效的交流。

Figure of speech is a common rhetorical device in both English and Chinese.To a certain degree,the choice of vehicle is determined by region and national culture,which will be studied from these two aspects in this paper： regional circumstance（regional distribution,distinguish in cultivated crops,climatological features） and national culture（influence of traditional culture,religion and legend,production and labor）,so that people can accept and convey language and cultural information in study as well as in daily life,thus communicating efficiently.
